I understand that for many right now, the future is uncertain. We are constantly reminded in the news of the uncertainty ahead of us, and silver linings are few and far between. At Manchester Codes, we’re trying to give people something to get excited about and a glimmer of hope for the future.
Earlier this month we launched a new free introductory course - Introduction to Programming - and a supporting community, which - at time of writing - is going strong with 270 members. This has already given many the opportunity to learn a new skill, and and we are sure many will go a step further and continue on their journey into the field of software engineering.
In that regard, we’ve been thinking carefully about what we offer, and making sure that - in these difficult times - we can reach as many people as possible. That’s why today we’ve launched our new Software Engineer FlexiTrack course.
Software Engineer FlexiTrack is a course you can take at your own pace. You follow along with the same bespoke materials we offer on our Software Engineer FastTrack course but lectures are pre-recorded and there is no scheduled class time. Because it’s fully flexible, you could look to complete the course in as little as 12 weeks full-time (at 40 hours a week) or 24 weeks part-time (at 20 hours per week), or a bit of both.
Because this course doesn’t have live lectures or scheduled classes, we are also able to offer it at a lower price point. We understand that finances are tough right now so we’ve tried to keep the price down as low as possible, meaning that when you need face-to-face support or a code review, then you can purchase these separately only as and when you need to, allowing you more financial flexibility. You can of course still get support from mentors, alumni and other learners in the Manchester Codes Community.
This course costs £2,250 in the UK including VAT (we do also offer this course in some EU countries at a price of €2,150 excluding VAT, which will be charged in addition at the respective country's VAT rate).
Yes. This course is based on our Software Engineer FastTrack course, which aims to get people into employment as a Junior Software Engineer. If you follow along with all of the materials, complete the projects and study for at least an hour or 2 every day then you should eventually be in a good position at the end of this course.
For UK residents we will offer up to 12 months interest-free finance on this course. You can calculate repayments with the finance calculator on the Software Engineer FlexiTrack course page.
We have created a detailed comparison between the two so you can choose what is right for your circumstances.
Applications open on 1st June 2020 (British Summer Time). In the meantime you can register your interest to receive notification when enrolment opens.
Please do get in touch. You can email the team on [email protected] or message us on social @manchestercodes.
In the meantime, if you haven’t done so already, why not give our free Introduction to Programming course a go?
I look forward to seeing you in our community!
